Arthshila Ahmedabad invites you for ‘๐ช๐ฅ๐๐ง๐๐ก๐ ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ฅ ๐๐๐ง๐ฌ’, ๐ฎ ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ๐๐ต๐ผ๐ฝ ๐ฏ๐ ๐๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐ถ ๐ฆ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐บ on Thursday, 30 November 2023 at 5.30 pm.
In this session, participants will explore diverse approaches to capturing the essence of their cities through words. Whether drawing from personal experiences, adopting the perspective of a first-time tourist discovering local legends, or immersing themselves in the city’s pulse by walking and eavesdropping, the goal is to articulate the urban landscape. The discussion will ponder into the choice of the narrator, questioning whether an individual perspective suffices or if a collective voice from city residents is essential. The dynamic nature of a city poses a challenge in portraying its vibrancy on the static page, urging participants to explore creative expressions.
The session will take a closer look at the book ‘Beyond the Boulevards: A Short Biography of Pondicherry,’ offering insights into the author’s process and inspiring participants to breathe life into their own cities through writing. The session will conclude with on-the-spot writing, allowing for a hands-on exploration of the discussed concepts.
