2bhk explores the human tendency to run away from silences. A tendency which has only grown with our exposure to technology and content. The film questions the substance of modern human relationships through the story of 2 flatmates living in the city of Gurugram as they are forced into each other’s company without any distractions on a weekend after they encounter a mundane occurrence. The film also explores alienation in relationships that comes along with urbanization through images inspired by the paintings of Edward Hopper.

Arsh Jain has been a theatre practitioner for the past 4 years. This is his first project which involves a camera. He started his journey with the Delhi University Collegiate theatre circuit as an actor. Towards the end of his graduation he got more interested in directing stories than being a medium to communicate them as an actor. Arsh co-directed a play which was an adaptation of Fyodor Dostoevsky’s ‘Notes from the Underground’. After graduating, he has a full-time corporate job in Gurgaon. While still continuing theatre with his job his inclination shifted towards telling stories through a camera. Arsh has made his first film and a lot of inspiration for this story comes from the city he lives in – Gurgaon, and the culture that he at times has to involuntarily be a part of.
