Join us for A Talk by Jerry Pinto on ‘A Family, A Gallery, A City: Gallery Chemould’s historic moment in the making of Bombay Modernism’ in collaboration with Speaking Tiger on Saturday, 6 January 2024 at 6.30 pm.
Jerry Pinto will discuss his latest nonfiction work, Citizen Gallery: the Gandhys of Chemould and the Birth of Modern Art in Bombay. Described as ‘a delectable read of conversations that must be heard, of art that must be seen, of photographs that must be envisioned, of letters that must be re-discovered, and of stories that must be retold, again and again’ and as a story that makes the reader feel s/he/they is ‘going through a family album’, this is an invaluable addition to the literary space where art intersects with history.
The discussion will be followed by an author-signing. Books will be available at the venue on the day.
