About the Workshop
A basic introduction to the concept and expectations of printmaking as a discipline. Mainly, three primary mediums will be addressed – potato printing, basic stenciling using paper cuts, and found object printing. These three will help to develop a very basic sense of the aspect of the multiplicity that printmaking as a discipline enables.
Aranya Sengupta is a Kolkata and Santiniketan-based printmaker, book designer, and researcher. He holds a BFA and MFA in Graphic Art (Printmaking) from Kala-Bhavana, Visva Bharati. His work extends printmaking beyond galleries, exploring graphic narrative politics, social norms, and environmental shifts through artists’ books and narrative scrolls. With over six years of research on books as socio-cultural objects, he has exhibited nationally and internationally.
