Emerging from the book ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐๐โ๐จ ๐๐ก๐๐๐๐จ edited by Neelkanth Chhaya, Tridip Suhrud and Riyaz Tayyibji, published by the Sabarmati Ashram Preservation and Memorial Trust, this exhibition focuses on the architecture of M.K. Gandhiโs ashrams in Ahmedabad and Wardha as sites for the development of some of his most important ideas.
The architectures of Gandhiโs ashrams are seen in continuation with his deep engagement and experiments with material (and their making) as part of his experiments with truth. During this time, M.K.Gandhi is also constantly inhabiting the much larger geography of this country to be at home in it. Here we also look at other key places where M.K. Gandhi resided, the houses of his youth and sites of his incarceration, for the insight they give us into his ways of inhabiting places
