All That We Own
A film by Aprajita Gupta
30 min | Hindi (English Subtitles) | 2024

She recalls the memory of her first home in Nagaland, each memory a lingering echo of displacement. Is visiting her homeland a moment of rootedness or a reminder that belonging remains elusive?

Warm Shadows
A film by Aakash Chhabra
15 min | Punjabi, Hindi (English Subtitles) | 2024

An interlude of questioning and closeness between a mother and a son.

B25
A film by Raqeeb & Manvendra
34 min | Hindi (English Subtitles) | 2024

Inside the walls of B25 is a sanctuary, where lives intersect, stories intertwine, and people flourish. The film offers glimpses of these unconventional bonds and experiences that reframe notions of home and belonging, while reflecting on queerness, love, chosen families, gender, violence, identity and freedom, against the backdrop of a rapidly changing India.

Aprajita Gupta is an independent filmmaker and artist whose work explores gender, migration, and technology through lived experiences and personal narratives. Growing up in small-town Uttar Pradesh, she reflects deeply on themes of home and belonging. Her student film Jaagte Khwaab, on identity and sexuality, screened at the Dharamshala International Film Festival 2023.

Aakash Chhabra is a writer-director from Panipat and an alumnus of Red Sea Directors’ Program, BIFF Asian Film Academy, Busan Asian Film School, and SRFTI. His shorts have screened at Busan, Oberhausen, Kerala, and Dharamshala, with Mintgumri (2021) nominated for FCG Critics’ Choice Awards and A Winter’s Elegy (2022) listed in Sight and Sound’s Best Video Essays. His upcoming films include Errands (2024) and Warm Shadows (2025), while his debut feature, I’ll Smile in September, is in development.

Rough Edges enables, mentors, produces and disseminates imaginative documentary films that explore diverse, intersecting and complex realities, boldly informed by feminist and queer politics and a commitment to social justice. Through the making and sharing of films, it aspires engagements with intention, perspective, process, form and expression and how they resonate in a structurally intricate and unequal world.

Imprints showcases films, stories, and conversations that explore interconnected gendered experiences, celebrating diverse desires, resistances, and solidarities. Developed through the Rough Edges Uncode Fellowships, these works reflect on patriarchies, intersecting identities, and the politics of framing women’s everyday lives.
