This is a short design history lecture: a research essay published in 2025 by Bloomsbury, UK in their anthology Women Graphic Designers: Rebalancing the Canon. Dolly Sahiar designed the iconic Marg magazine and many other publications.

Rukminee Guha Thakurta is a graphic designer, writer, editor, teacher, and publisher known for her work in publication design and international collaborations with artists, publishers, and museums. She is the Art Director of Platform magazine, teaches design as visiting faculty at several institutions, including her alma mater, the National Institute of Design, India.

PhotoSouthAsia focuses on fostering the regional photography community through workshops, grants, and symposia. By bringing together educators, curators, and other practitioners from the region and around the world, it creates opportunities to exchange ideas, build meaningful connections, and expand possibilities through new introductions and broader exposure.
