This hands-on workshop teaches participants to build a simple pinhole camera from a cardboard box while exploring the concept of camera obscura and the basics of light, optics, and photography. Participants will create black-and-white images on photo paper using chemistry, producing negative photographs that can later be converted into positives.
Mrinal Bahukhandi is a Goa-based writer, filmmaker, and photographer whose practice focuses on analogue photography and historic 19th-century photographic processes. He creates hand-made images using light-sensitive emulsions and shares his knowledge through workshops and Atelier Monad.
Atelier Monad is an experimental photo lab and studio dedicated to process-driven, analogue photography and filmmaking.
Multiform is a six-month series showcasing Goa’s interdisciplinary art practices across image, performance, sound, research, and digital forms.
