โ€˜Neverending Stories- a search for a space where words and images might meetโ€™ โ€“ Manjari explores formats and mediums where her stories of personal and social histories take shape visually as well as in words, in prose and in poetry.

Tracing the evolution of a certain chain of thought that explores her surroundings and their inherent characteristics, that started in the 90โ€™s, and continues to the present day, the works take the form of graphic essays, accordion books that hold her prose-poetry alongside visuals, and her published childrenโ€™s books that evolved from the same chain of documenting her surroundings in word and image. As a writer and a visual artist, Manjariโ€™s works rarely are a finished work in themselves, being open ended, open to interpretation, and spooling out into many different versions- each a Neverending story.

Trained as a printmaker at Kala Bhavana, Santiniketan, she works with personal and social histories, transforming found and often recycled materials into narratives. Researching and journaling histories into books, boxes and installations, layered with text, she draws upon indigenous art sources, kitsch and, increasingly, the written word. She now divides her time between her art practice, writing and documenting, and creating books for children.
