Join us at Arthshila Ahmedabad for ‘An Evening with Cathy Sweeney’, where Cathy will share details of her writing process, perform a reading of her work, and take part in a Q&A session with members of the audience.

This session is in collaboration with the Consulate General of Ireland, Mumbai.

Cathy Sweeney is a writer living in Dublin, Ireland. Her short fiction has been published in The Stinging Fly, The Dublin Review, Egress, Winter Papers, Banshee, and The Tangerine, and has been broadcast on BBC Radio 4. Her debut short story collection, Modern Times, was published in 2020. Her debut novel, Breakdown, was published in 2024 and was described by the Irish Times as “a striking debut from a highly original writer… a thoroughly modern cautionary tale about the costs of limiting our options, and ourselves, to suffocating roleplay.” Her work deals with themes including gender expectations, identity, capitalism, marriage, and modern life.
