The workshop will be conducted by Mustaq Khatri (Artisan of Ajrakh craft) and Deena Pindoria (Visual Artist).

Mustaq Abdullah Khatri is a generational artisan of the Ajrakh craft and his practice is steeped in legacy. He is a master of traditional techniques, traditional usage of block, resist and dyeing processes inherent to Ajrakh and has then gone on to innovate according to market demands. He studied at Somaiya Kala Vidya to enhance his design and marketing knowledge. Deena Pindoria currently practices and experiments with the artform and her art practice, in Mustaq Khatri’s workshop at Ajrakhpur, often collaborating with him on pieces.
Deena Pindoria is a visual artist exploring the intersections of tradition, history, and community collaboration, with a focus on Ajrakh block printing and natural dyes. Her work engages with traditional textiles, architectural motifs, and evolving cultural narratives, drawing from her collaborations with artisan communities in Kachchh. She has exhibited at prestigious platforms such as Art Dubai, Art Mumbai, Art Brussels, and DCAW, and has been recognized with awards like the Space118 Fine Art Grant and the Kala Sakshi Art Scholarship and The Art Family(TAF) Emerging Artist Award.
