Dr. Rudrangshu Mukherjee is the Chancellor and Professor of History at Ashoka University of which he was also the Founding Vice Chancellor. He studied History as an undergraduate at Presidency College, Calcutta and completed his MA in History from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. He went up as an Inlaks Scholar to St Edmund Hall, Oxford, and was awarded a D.Phil. in Modern History by the University of Oxford.

In this session, Dr. Rudrangshu Mukherjee will present a lecture and release his most recent publication, followed by a discussion and open mic.

‘Tagore & Gandhi: Walking Alone, Walking Together’ is in-depth study of the deep bond between Mahatma Gandhi and Rabindranath Tagore by Dr. Rudrangshu Mukherjee. It is an exploration of their relationship through their differences expressed in their writings and letters to each other along with the beliefs that acted as the bond between the two of them.
