Sopan Joshi is a journalist and author in New Delhi. For about 25 years he has researched, written, and edited for a variety of publications, in English and Hindi. The first, titled ‘Jal-Thal-Mal’ (‘Water-Land-Excreta’; 2016), is a product of 10 years of research on the history and science of sanitation, seen with a social and environmental perspective. He is the author of ‘Ek Tha Mohan’ (‘A boy called Mohan’, 2017) and ‘Bapu Ki Pati’ (‘Bapu’s Message’, 2018).
Having associated formally and informally with organizations working on Mahatma Gandhi’s values, Sopan also designs and conducts training programmes for teachers on the social & environmental perspectives. In this session, Sopan will speak about the many misconceptions linked to the idea of sanitation in design.
