Display of Old Batik Saris and Discussion on Traditonal Batik
Presented in collaboration with Amoli and Arthshila, Santiniketan
As part of the Nabanna Folk Art and Craft Fair, a special presentation and display of traditional Batik Saris will take place at Arthshila Santiniketan, organized in collaboration with Amoli.
Nabanna Folk Art and Craft Fair is an annual fair that provides craftspersons a platform to directly engage with their patrons and sell their wares. The ten-day festival hosts literary fest- Nabanna Earth Weekend – that brings authors together to engage in discussions on arts, stories behind their creation, ideas on social evolution, innovations and ways and means to save the environment. It also hosts song, dance, poetry, and skits performed by artists from the Viswa Bharati University in Shantiniketan and a food court, art competition, health camp, and workshops for artisans and students alike.
Nabanna offers artisans an opportunity to showcase and sell their creations while engaging directly with consumers. Amoli, being a homestay, cafe and a bakery, also serves as a host for various art-centric gatherings and events.
