About the Master Craftspersons:
Master Calligrapher Syed Azeem Haider Jafri.
In Lucknow the art form of calligraphy flourished during the period of nawabs. Different verses from  the Quran were written on paper or precious/semi precious stones in artistic form.These  decorated  palaces, homes etc. It was believed that a person wearing  stones having verses written on it in calligraphy would face no misfortune in life. Presently the craft is practiced by only a few artists  settled in different places in and around Lucknow.
Master Murtikar Mahesh Kumar.

In the bustling Raqabganj area in Lucknow, Mahesh Kumar Murtikar has been making and selling small statuettes made of  mitti  over 30 years and is the third generation of his family in the business. Mahesh has dedicated his life, building the craft of making clay toys. He mastered his skills in miniature bobble heads and magnet faces.
